| Pandits demand reconstruction of Hindu temples | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, June 23: The provincial president of Peoples Democratic Party Employees and Workers Union S.K. Raina was on a tour of Noor Abad constituency and Kheer Bhawani Asthapan, Manzgam Kulgam where thousands of Kashmiri Pandits took part in the yatra. Local Muslim community welcomed the pilgrims and showered upon them their love and affection. Manzgam shrine has its historical importance. Raina welcomed the initiatives for organizing such programmes and urged for special packages to the Kashmiri Hindu community so that they could visit their shrines in their home land. He urged for renovation of Hindu temples and dharam shalas throughout the valley and demanded that the land occupied by miscreants should be got vacated. He urged the religious leaders of all communities to make efforts for creating good atmosphere in the valley so that the Hindu community could return to their homeland and live with Muslim brethren in peace and harmony. Raina also urged the youth who have been appointed to join their posts. These appointments were made under Prime Ministers employment package. Present at the occasion were Manzoor Ahmad Zargar, Ghulam Mohiu'd-Din, Mohammad Yaseen Shah, Molvi Iqbal and others.
