| Supply ration as per fixed scale: Akhoon | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JUNE 23 : Deposit PDS amount by 30th of every month in the department so that atta, rice and sugar could be supplied to the masses timely ordered Mi nister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department and Transport. Qamar Ali Akhoon to the ration dealers The Minister said this while chairing the review meeting of CAPD and Transport departments at Samba, here this morning. MLA, Hiranagar, Durga Dass, Incharge Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Anil Gupta and other senior officers of CAPD and Transport were present in the meeting. Akhoon asked the CAPD authorities to submit the assessments about the damage of crop in the district due to long dry spell. He asked them to make proper verifications about the damages so that free ration could be distributed among the genuine people. The Minister asked all sections of the society not to deposit ration cards with respective area ration dealers and warn stern action against the dealer who was found keeping the ration cards with him. Responding to local demands, Akhoon said that the government was making all out efforts to set up LPG distribution centre at every tehsil for the convenience of the people. He asked the CAPD officers to conduct weekly visit to their jurisdiction in far-off areas of the district for assessing the PDS related problems of the people. He said that 'it is the duty of Government to provide ration to the people at their doorsteps timely. Regarding special bus service to female passengers in the district, he asked the district Transport Authority to explore the possibility for the same.
