Geelani's fresh shutdown calendar

Srinagar, June 24: Even as government has taken Hurriyat (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, into custody and yet again lodged him at Forest Hut at picturesque Cheshma Shahi, Police have arrested over 30 separatist leaders and activists in the last 48 hours.
District Magistrate Srinagar, Meraj Ahmed Kakroo, told Early Times that in the last 24 hours he has confirmed Police recommendation of detaining 10 of the separatist leaders under Public Safety Act (PSA). They include, Hurriyat (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar. Informed sources said that preparations were underway to arrest and detain High Court Bar Association President, Advocate Mian Qayoom, and 10 more separatist leaders, believed to be close to Geelani. Meanwhile, Geela-ni's lieutenant and Vice Chairman of Muslim League, Massarat Aalam Bhat, today held a press conference at a secret place in Srinagar only to issue a fresh shutdown calendar on beha-lf of Hurriyat (Geelani).
