| Withdraw support to Omar, Bhim tells Sonia | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 24: Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman, J&K National Panthers Party today presented a letter to Sonia Gandhi, President, Indian National Congress urging the President to take prompt and immediate decision to withdraw Congress support to J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in the interest of her own party and the security of the country. In a letter, he said that Omar Abdullah's performance as a Chief Minister have been minus zero and his administrative and legislative skills were no better than that. He said law and order situation in J&K is out of control, the administration cannot even deal with the stone-throwing children, strikes and bandhs have become order of the day. The militancy is being revived by the axe and omissions of the Chief Minister resulting into martyrdom of senior army officers and decorated soldiers. Another factor which deserves noticed is that the tourist season in Kashmir has literally collapsed causing an agony to the people and the economy of the state. In his letter addressed to Sonia Gandhi, Prof. Bhim Singh reminded her about the dangerous connections of the National Conference leaders with the enemies of India. In his letter, he has appealed for the intervention of the Central leadership and for withdrawal of Congress support to the Chief Minister. In his letter he has also reminded Sonia Gandhi about the blunders committed by the Central leadership vis-à-vis Jammu and Kashmir since 1947, which have created the present situation in the state threatening the security of the nation. He cautioned the Central leadership that any indulgence with the young Chief Minister, any more, may prove a disaster for the Congress in particular. |
