| KHC expresses surprise over returns of KPs to valley | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 24: The activists of Kashmiri Hindu conference (KHC) have expressed surprise over the J&K government's initiative for return of Kashmir Pandit (KP) migrants to the Valley. Addressing the KHC members M.L. Thussu said, the that govts move is pre-mature beside a deliberate attempt of camouflaging the actual situation in the valley. He said that mass exodus of KPs from Kashmir Valley is a blot on Indian democracy secularism and Kashmiryat. This blot can be removed by a scientific approach to the problem after obtaining expert opinion on the subject "Protection of miniscule minority instead of patchwork, hiding and conceiting of facts and hoodwinking KPs by offering dolls. He said constitutional guarantees, minority status, reservation in local bodies; state legislature and union parliament are pre-requisites for the return of the community at a big township created at one place. The KHC leaders made it clear that the community by and large cannot be swayed by such Gratis and cannot also compromise on self-respect and individual freedom any cost. The KHC leaders appealed both the state and central govts. To facilitate basic requirements for the community so that valley can become habitable for their safe and peaceful living. The leaders who also addressed the meeting among others include P.L.Koul Budgami, K.L. Ganjoo, A.K. Shadoo, M.L. Dftri, Jai Kishan Raina, M.L.Koul, AK Bhat and J.L.Mantoo. |
