| Godher Khalsa still lives bullock cart age | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 24 : Godher Khalsa village of tehsil & distt. Reasi is still reeling in the destiny of bullock cart age. The state govt's hollow slogans for development works initiated in various blocks are simply on paper for which huge amount of funds have been demanded and ciphened in the pockets of a few person. This village has not been touched even for a minor development work till date. The village has not been provided a health centre. One has travel upto Sunderbani even for a tablet of bad cold. Road connectivity is poor. The conditions of the school building is in a deplorable condition. It trickles while it rains. After passing 8th standard examination the children have to travel 10 kms to and fro to attend high school later. Drinking water supply is also a matter of concern for the villagers. The present MLA, Baldev Raj Sharma has never returned to the village after winning assembly elections of 2008. He has failed totally to maintain his promises given at the time of elections. The concerned MLAs/MLCs are busy only to emass wealth for themselves and solve the problems of their own kiths and kins. Thus a village of about 100 families with a population of 1000 souls has usually been neglected merely for a budget of Rs. 10 to 15 lacs (as stated by a group of villagers headed by Ankush Sharma). This speaks a volume about the accountability of elected representatives of the area as well as of the government which needs to be looked into on priority. |
