Punjab wrestler Gurvinder bags Fadya Kesari title

JAMMU, June 24: Gurvinder of Garh Shanker in Punjab clinched the 42nd Annual Fadya Kesari title outplaying wrestler Ram Paul (Bholu) of Naresh Akhara Delhi in main played at Fadya near Government Middle School in district Reasi.
Wrestler Gurvinder was given away a cash prize of Rs 8,000 by the chief guest, Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association while runner up, Ram Paul presented Rs 7,000 as cash prize by former Sarpanch Sham Lal. Contractor Virinder Magotra, Rashpaul Singh, Madan Lal and SI TR Sharma were guests of honour.
This day-long dangal, wherein 48 bouts were played, was organized by Fadya Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
In the second main bout was won by Bhura of Panthankot in Punjab beating Lalla of Delhi. Third main bout between Qasim Din (Billu) of J&K Police and Rishi Paul of Jullandhar in Punjab ended in a draw after 29 minutes fight. The fourth bout between Puran Singh of Garh Shanker and Satish Kumar of Jallandhar, which lasted for 33 minutes, again ended in a draw.
Members of organizing Committee and those technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of dangal were former Sarpanch, Sham Lal (president), Bishan Dass, Rattan Lal, Mangat Ram, Suraj Din, Rehmat Ali, Gulam Hussain, Jagir Singh, Manjoor Hussain, Rakesh Kumar, Kallu Ram, Om Partkash Sharma NIS wrestling coach, Allah Mai (Ranga), Bittu Raina and Ali Akbar.
Other Results: Dinesh of Naresh Akhara Delhi bt Inderjeet of Garh Shanker in Punjab, Bhalla of Punjab bt Gulshan Singh of J&K Police of Kalakot, Gurpal Singh of Amiritsar bt Anil Kumar (Mohanu) of J&K Police Jammu, Sukha of Garh Shanker bt Rakesh of J&K Police of Manwal, Satish of Jallander beat Inderjeet of Garh Shanker and Lalli of Garh Shanker bt Sunny of J&K Police of Muthi Jammu. Bout between Vivky of Harayana and Krishan of J&K Police ended in a draw.
