| 1st Police Martyrs Memorial tournament from June 25 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR ,June 24:Reasi range police in collaboration with District Volley ball Association, Udhampur is organizing 1st Police Martyrs Memorial State Level Volley ball tournament at Mini Stadium w.e.f. June 25 to June 30,
This was disclosed by Deputy Inspector General of Police Udhampur Reasi range Gulzar Singh Salathia at a press conference held at Udhampur on Thursday.
The DIG said that as many as nine noted volley ball teams of the state have officially given their consent to take part in the tournament.These team include BSF, Jammu Frontier, Army, Central team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, District Jammu, District Kathua, Sports Authority of India Hostel Udhampur, City Volley ball Club ( Red) and City Volley Ball Club Udhampur ( Blue).Terming Udhampur as hub of sports activities especially in volley ball, the DIG said that the district has produced number of skilled volleyball players who had proved their worth at various levels.
He said that holding of state level event in volleyball would definitely promote the sports culture in the district besides the tournament would go a long way in providing a chance to the noted players of the state to interact on a common platform and share their experiences which would further help in strengthening the brotherhood and mutual understanding.
