| HC directs BOPEE to allow petitioner in CET | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 24: Vacation Judge of Jammu & Kashmir High Court, Jammu Wing, Justice JP Singh today directed Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) to permit the petitioner to participate in the J&K Common Entrance Test for medical and engineering courses to be held on June 26. This significant direction was issued in a petition filed by Ashwarya Jandial in petitioner was disqualified to take the J&K Common Entrance Test Examination for Medical & Engineering Courses on the ground that she had been placed in compartment in Mathematics on the initial declaration of the result of senior school certificate examination 2010. During the course of arguments. Adv Pranav Kohli submitted that on re-checking by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the petitioner was found to have secured 73 marks in the subject. Despite clearing her examination, she was not allowed to to sit in the Common Entrance Test. Justice JP Singh after considering arguments of the counsel for the petitioner issued notice to the respondents with the directions to allow the petitioner to sit in Common Entrance Test for Medical and Engineering Courses, with further directions that the result of petitioner's consideration shall not, however, be declared until further orders. ---JNF
