Passport office to hold Maiden Lok Adalat in Srinagar

Srinagar, October 19: The passport office Srinagar has issued 7,500 passport during the year 2006 so for and is set to hold maiden Lok Adalat in Srinagar on Friday during which pending cases will be disposed off on spot.
Talking to KNS Passport Officer Srinagar Sareer AMulu said that around 1000 passports are issued every month by his office and all travel documents pending disposal will be disposed off by December end this year.
Claiming that passports are issues within 15 days after the receipt of clearance from police and security agencies, he however said around 2000 passport are pending disposal for the want of investigation reports at Srinagar passport office. Saying that work on clearance of the permits of 15000 applicants having applied for Srinagar- Muzaffarabad bus travel and 5000 applicants having applied for Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus journey is in progress, the Passport Officer said a Lok Adalat is being organized for the first time on Friday, October 20 during which all pending cases will be disposed off on spot.
