| Protest in JU over gross mismanagement in DDE | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | OCT 19 The M Ed students of Jammu University's (JU) Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) today protested in the university campus over the gross mismanagement in the functioning of DDE. Students were protesting against the mishandling of M Ed (Sem-1) assignments by the officials of the M Ed department, which resulted into the mental harassment to many of the students. According to students, they had submitted their assignments well within the time and due to the negligence and mishandling of the department officials they got misplaced. As a result, assignment marks were not given to them. They termed the act of department officials as highly irresponsible due to which students are suffering. They also raised slogans against the DDE authorities, as none of the official concerned was available in the office to listen the grievances of the suffering students. Prominent student leader of JU, Vikas Sharma was leading the protesting students. However, protesting students got pacified only after the assurances of Director, DDE Prof. O S Soodan. He assured students to look into their grievances at an earliest. Meanwhile, students have threatened to intensify their protest if there demands are not met with. |
