Kailash Niketan wins district kabaddi title | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 28: Kailash Niketan Club Poni Chak clinched the Jammu District Kabaddi Championship beating Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra Club in the final played at Kabaddi Field, Poni Chak, near here. In the final and prize distribution function, vice president, Amateur Kabaddi Association, Arun Gupta was chief guest. Among others present were Dinesh Gupta, Surinder Mohan, Anil Modi and general secretary of the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta. Lucky Sharma was declared most promising player of the tournament award while Keshav was adjudged best raider and best catcher trophy went to Lucky Sharma. Earlier, in the semifinals, Kailash Niketan beat BSK School Club Akalpur 57-56 in a close contest while Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra trounced Shiv Public School Club 49-16 rather comfortably. Teams reaching the quarterfinals included KL Public School Club, Lord Shiva School, New Rose Public School New High School Club, Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra Club, Shiv Public School, BSK Club, Kailash Niketan and S L Memorial Club. This championship was organised by Jammu District Kabaddi Association in collaboration with Baba Jitto Kabaddi Club Poni Chak. Earlier, the championship was declared open by SDPO Domana, Deewakar Singh.
