Punjab wrestler Kamaljot bags Aghar Jitto dangal title

JAMMU, June 28: Wrestler Kamaljot (Billa) of Khanna in Punjab lifted the 47th Annual Aghar Jitto Kesari Dangal title outplaying another Punjab wrestler, Amarjeet of Ferozpur in the main bout played at village Aghar jitto in tehsil and district Reasi.
Dangal, part of the three-day annual mela, was organised by Baba Jitto Temple Development Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Winner of the title received a cash prize of Rs 4,000 in addition to handsome Silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta while looser, Amarjeet runner up wrestler Amarjeet got Rs 3,000 as prize money.
District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Pondurang K Pole was the chief guest who gave away prizes to winners and runner up of this dangal. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided. Mela officer and Tehsildar Reasi, Sher Singh and Naib Tehsildar Katra, Rattan Singh were the guests of honour. Headmaster, Gopal Krishan and former Sarpanch, Krishan Singh were also present.
In all, 37 bouts were played in the day-long dangal. The second main bout, played between Bablu of Delhi and wrestler Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal in Jammu, ended in a draw. In the third main bout Swarn Singh of Kot Bhalwal Jammu defeated Raja of Delhi while Babloo of Delhi clinched the fourth bout defeating Sodhi of Uttar Pradesh. The fifth main bout went to Pawan of Khanna, hwo beat Romesh of Banaras in UP. The sixth bout, which lasted for 24 minutes between Kala of Nargara and Arjun of Amritsar in Punjab, ended in a draw.
Members of organizing committee and those technical official who helped in smooth conduct of dangal were Mohan Lal Pujari, Headmaster Gopal Krishan, Om Parkash Malkotra, Romesh Kumar Sanmotra, Krishan Singh, Sunil Kholi, Krishan Chand Verma, Mangat Ram, Shanker Singh, Bansi Lal, Bodh Raj, Om Parkash, Bishan Dass, Ramesh Kumar, Ram, Pt. Rameshwer, Mohinder Kumar, Allah Mai (Ranga) Capt. Lehar Singh (Retd.) and Master Ram Krishan.
