Divided opinion over rehab package for KPs | | | early times report JAMMU, June 26: Under the Prime Minister relief package, Kashmiri Pandit community particularly the youth of the community is a happy lot, in this era of unemployment. But this is also creating ripples among the veteran of the community who are saying that we did not left Kashmir for economic reasons. The rehabilitation scheme provides land and quarters to about 2400 families at Matan, Sekhpora, Budgam, Anantnag and many other near by areas. The policy also provides jobs to about 3000 unemployed youth in many departments including education and health. The land bearers will get seven and a half lakh rupees for the construction of their houses. A senior leader of National conference (NC) Minority Cell, M.L Munshi hailed the decision of the government and also said that it was very beneficial to the youth and would definitely change their lives. However, Ajay Mishri, a local KP of Subhash Nagar said that he was very happy to go back and work in his own birth land and appeals the government to implement this package as soon as possible. Sandeep Suri- a rehabilitator who got a job in teaching department said that we were satisfied with this Prime Minister's rehabilitation scheme and seeing forward to it.
