| Dy CM conducts surprise visit to Municipal bodies, Jammu | | Negligent officials to face action | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 28 : Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand today conducted surprise visit of the offices of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Director Local Bodies, Municipal Committees of Bari-Brahamna, Vijaypur and Samba and checked the attendance of the staff. VC Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and Director Urban Local Bodies also accompanied with the Deputy Chief Minister. Mr. Tara Chand issued instructions to the concerned HoDs to initiate action against the erring officials who were found absent from their duties. At Municipal Committee, Bari Brahamna, Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress of ongoing development works which include upgradation of lane and drains, black-topping of internal roads and installation of transformers at various location in the Bari-Brahamna. He also paid obeisance at Baba Sidh Goria Nath Ji Shrine at Swankhan in Vijaypur in Samba district. A large number of locals residents met with the Deputy Chief Minister and projected their demands regarding modernization of revered pond near temple, Children park and High Mast Light for public convenience. Deputy Chief Minister assured them that their demands would be consider. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Coalition government is keen to develop the all areas on modern lines. He asked the DDC Samba to install four high mast lights in the main chowks of the temple besides asking to submit the estimate for the construction of Children Park. He also reviewed the progress of ongoing development works and functioning of Municipal Committee Vijaypur and said that all the development works would be completed within stipulated time frame. The Deputy Chief Minister chaired meeting with officers at Municipal Committee Samba. He said that no work be taken up without availability of funds and administrative approval. The Deputy Chief Minister also met with the locals and listened their demands regarding uninterrupted electric supply, modernization of Samba bus stand and upgradation of lanes and drains. |
