PDP seeks New Delhi's intervention for restoring trust | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, June 28 : President PDP Minority Cell, Ashok Bhat condemned the killing of innocent youths across the valley by security forces and said that government's inability to curb such incidents speaks of its incompetence and frustration. He urged for central government's intervention in restoring faith and dignity among the people. In a statement Bhat said that there was divergence in government's words and deeds as far as the question of protection of life was concerned. Calling Sagar's press conference eyewash and blame-game to cover up its ineffectiveness, Bhat said that people know how NC government is befooling people by ordering mock enquiries into recurring incidents of killing. Calling the youth as nation's precious future, he demanded that their grievances be heard and mitigated. Use of excessive force can create negative impact and lead to recurrence of the events of 1989 he apprehended. Bhat recollected the success of the policy of the previous PDP-led government in restoring normalcy and confidence among the people. He warned that giving a free hand to the killers of humanity would adversely affect relations between the people of the state and the union government. Therefore it was important that the government comes up with constructive plans of stopping wanton killings. |
