| Tehsildars clash at RS Pura | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 28: A verbal duel took place between tehsildar revenue and tehsildar settlement in the office of sub-district magistrate (SDM), RS Pura, today.
The problem started when SDM called tehsildar Iqbal Singh to his office following a complaint against him by the patwaris of Maraliya niabat, alleging that he had snatched their files from them.When Iqbal entered SDM's office, tehsildar settlement was already sitting there. Official sources said when the SDM asked him why he had taken
patwaris' files, he entered into a verbal brawl with the tehsildar settlement, accusing him of having lodged a complaint against him.The matter was, however, sorted out with the intervention of other officials, the sources added.
Later, people of the area held demonstration against Iqbal Singh levelling allegations of corruption against him. |
