It's lifetime job in PHE Rajouri! | The dept has 80 officials above 60 yrs | | Early Times Report Rajouri, June 28: It may sound unusual for other states but this is happening in Jammu and Kashmir. While the state is facing an unemployment problem, but Rajouri Public Health Engineering department has reportedly forgotten to retire its atleast 80 officials, among them 24 are being 'forcibly' superannuated on June 30 and 14 have already been relieved from the department. As per the data available with State's Employment Department, there are 5 lakh educated unemployed youth in this state on one side and on the other the government has reportedly forgotten to retire its officials in Rajouri district. Sources told ET that there are atleast 80 officials working in PHE Rajouri who have already crossed age limit of employment. Though 14 employees were retired on May 31 and 24 are being retired on June 30, the processing of superannuating the remaining officials is yet to be started. Atleast 14 employees of above 60 years of age were retired on May 31 by PHE Rajouri. Public Health Engineering department has given name of "volunteer retirement" to this drive but sources said that all these officials have crossed the age limit set for the retirement and they fall in the age group of 60-80 and are being forcibly shown the door. The department retired 14 officials on May 31 but sources said that there are atleast 80 more such officials who have crossed age limit of retirement and are still working. Sources said that the department had either not received date of birth certificate or the officials might have tampered the DoB certificates as few officials according to sources are yet to be retired and their children are at the verge of retirement. Sources said that these officials seemed above 70 years but some having date of birth certificates of 50 years. "How it is possible that a father is working and his son has 5 years to retire", sources said, adding that there is no possibility of 5 years age difference between son and father. Sources said that the officials who are likely to be retired on June 30 included Mohammad Hanief son of Noor Wali resident of Phalni, Faqir Mohammad son of Khushi Mohhamad resident of Sarola Manjakote, Abdul Rashid son of Faqir Mohammad resident of Dassal Jatan, Alam Din son of Kher Din resident of Khawas Budhal, Ali Mohammad son of Wazir Mohammad resident of Budhal, Mohammad Rafiq son of Ahmed Ali resident of Kakora, Mohammad Bashir son of Abdul Aziz resident of Draj, Shamas Din son of Alia resident of Draman Kotranka, Mohammad Din son of Lal Din resident of Phalni Budhal, Bihari Lal son of Kanshi Ram resident of Rajouri, Bashir Ahmed son of Abdul Gani resident of Doodaj, Fateh Mohammad son of Minthu resident of Thanamang Darhal, Mohammad Amin son of Farman Ali resident of Topa Doodaj Darhal, Mohammad Sadiq son of Sulah Mohammad resident of Dhanore Rajouri, Mohammad Ishaq son of Abdul Aziz resident of Doodaj, Ghulam Hussain son of Roshan resident of Ujhan, Mohammad Akbar son of Dina resident of Karyote, Talab Hussain son of Jalal Din resident of Doodaj Darhal, Mir Mohammad son of Roshan Din resident of Thanamandi, Mohd Iqbal son of Abdullah resident of Thanamang Darhal, Alam Din son of Roshan Din resident of Leran, Ghulam Rasool resident of Panihad Budhal and Wazir Mohammad son of Hashmat resident of Leeran. Though all these officials are being honorably retired according to PHE, they were forced to apply for retirement. When contacted Executive Engineer PHE Rajouri Swarn Singh said that they are going to "voluntarily retire" 24 officials on June 30, 2010. He also admitted that there may also be some officials who desire retirements. However, he said that it is not forced retirement. "They are voluntarily coming forward for retirement", he added. When asked about tracing out of the remaining officials, Executive Engineer said that he will issue notification for those who seemed aged to voluntarily register themselves for retirement and if they will not come forward honorably, they will shown the doors forcibly after conducting bone tests in forensic laboratories. |
