| 2 brothers held for murdering neighbour | | |

Jammu, Two brothers were today arrested by police for allegedly beating their neighbour to death at Jourian in Akhnoor. Land dispute was stated to be the reason behind the incident, police sources said.
The accused were identified as Balbir Singh alias Kala and Papu Choudhary, both sons of Punnu Ram, of Jourian, and the victim as Purshotam Lal (48), son of Kunj Lal.
Sources said the two families clashed over the demarcation of a piece of land at Jourian at about 9.30 am. There was a heated exchange of words following which the two brothers stoned Purshotam and then gave him a severe beating, the sources added. He died on way to hospital. Police had arrested both the accused and registered a murder case against them under sections 302, 447 and 34 of RPC.
