| Adbi Kunj pays tribute to Ramlal Sharma | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | OC T 19 President Adbi Kunj and Sham Talib and Gen. Secretary Talib Kashmiri paid rich tributes to late, Ram Lal Sharma on his 101st birth anniversary who was born at Gurha Salathian on Oct 1905. Speakers, while throwing light on his life and literary achievements said that the deceased had started his literary career at the age of 54 and was associated with Dogri Sanstha, Jammu Sharma was given Sahitya Academy Award in 1988 for his collection of Dogri ghazals titled "Rattu-da-Chanan". The late poet had deep association with Adbi Kunj and used to attend its poetic meets. In the meet compliments were paid to Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, president of India a known writer and poet in his 75th birthday for his contribution to the world of science as well as literature. On this occasion, appointment of Dr. Shafaq Sopori, a well known Urdu poet as Deputy Secretary of J&K Academy of Art and Culture was also welcomed. Muni Lal Puri presented a short story based on facts titled " Kewl Badshah-Kewl Swami" depicting transformation of a crook into a saint. Those who recited their poems and ghazals included Talib Lal Kashmiri, Daya Ram Daya, Muni Lal Puri, Com. Jaswant Singh, NArgis Sitara, Sanjeev Kumar, Khairati Lal Arsh and Sham Talib. Two ghazlas written and sent by Firdous Nida from Kulgam (Kashmiri) were also read on this occasion by his representative Kaisar Ahmed Zargar.
