JAMMU, July 13: A former army jawan was killed and a house damaged when lightning struck in some parts of Jammu and Kathua districts.
Lightning struck a grazing field in Kadytar (Malhar) belt of Billawar tehsil in Kathua district in which 65-year-old ex-serviceman Krishan Chand was killed, police said.
In another incident, a house of a villager was damaged when lightning struck it in Kotha village of border tehsil of R S Pura in Jammu district early today.
No one was, however, injured in the incident, police informed.
