| Machhedi facing govt apathy | | | ARUN TRISAL
KATHUA, July 13: The newly explored hill station Machhedi in district Kathua, just located 80 Km from the national highway from Daylachack is attracting a large number of tourists from outside and within the state as well. As per the source, more than 1000 people from different areas have visited Machhedi so far and enjoyed scenic beauty of this high altitude spot. However, many tourists namely Tarun Gupta, Preeti, Mandeep Singh, Vikas Singh Jasrotia, Amit Chauhan, Advocate Kasturi Lal and others regretted, saying government was not taking serious initiatives to develop it as tourist spot. They alleged that 'Macchedi' was suffering from lack of proper infrastructure and there was no proper road, no guest houses , and the main road from Sukral to Machhedi was in dilapidated condition. They urged the government to develop it as tourists spot , adding it would be a healthy resource to generate the income and also provide the employment to locals. |
