LeT commander killed in Kishtwar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 14: A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) district commander was killed by security forces in a gunbattle in Bunjwan Kithar forests of Kishtwar this morning. Police sources said acting on a tip-off, police and army jawans cordoned off a hideout of LeT militants in Bunjwan Kithar forests in the morning. While the jawans were closing in on the hideout, militants opened fire on them, which was returned, the sources added. In the ensuing exchange of fire that lasted over an hour, jawans shot dead one militant who was identified as LeT district commander Mohammad Ishaq of Goni Patnazi, Kishtwar. He had been active in the area for the past five years. Sources termed his killing as a great success, saying he was wanted in several militancy related incidents and civilian killings.
