Shabir Khan inspects CAPD stores | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 15: Minister of State for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution, Shabir Ahmad Khan, today inspected CAPD outlets in Jammu to assess the availability and quality of essential commodities being supplied to the people. During his visit to Central store Bikram Chowk, the Minister was apprised that presently 3000 quintal of wheat, 7000 quintal of rice and 3000 quintal of sugar is available and the consumers are being supplied the ration as per norms. Similarly, at CAPD Store Chatha, the minister was informed that 6200 quintal of rice, 3433quintal of sugar and 944 quintal of wheat is available in the store at present. The Minister took stock of the ration in these stores and asked the concerned officers to ensure that there is adequate ration available in all the stores and people may not face any problem. He also stressed on proper storage of these commodities and said that it is important that the food grains are stored properly so that same are not affected due to rains. The Minister said that the Government has taken all necessary measures to ensure that the adequate supply of all essential commodities and the CAPD stores in all parts of the state are catering to the needs of the people. He also visited the FCI store at Chatha and has directed the concerned officers to ensure strict implementation of the new wage rates to the laborers.
