Interacting with the engineers, Saroori asked them to speed up the land acquisition, required for the purpose, and ensure that project is completed well in time. He said that turning existing 4-lane Dalgate-Batamaloo road into 6-lane was taken up to ease the traffic pressure on this important road of the Summer Capital. Traffic jamming in Lalchowk, Regal Chowk, Jahangir Chowk, Batamaloo and Dalgate would be eased to a large extent, once the project is completed, Saroori hoped. Minister was informed that Rs 5 crore have been expended on the project so far and is expected to be completed ahead of its schedule. It was given out that the road is scheduled to be completed within three years and work is going on ahead of its schedule. He was informed that macadamization of the road from Dalgate up to Polo View would be completed by the end of this year. Underling need for applying double shift methods, Saroori asked the engineers to accelerate work on other projects as well, taken up in the Srinagar city, in view of the limited working season. He asked the engineers to ensure constant monitoring on all the projects to avoid delay in completion besides checking the usage of qualitative material as per specifications. "There would be no compromise on quality of work "Saroori exhorted and instructed concerned engineers to remain available on site places to ensure timely completion and usage of qualitative material in all projects. |
