| Mufti saheb kursi cheen ke le gaye | | | Jammu,October 22 The loss of power in 2002 Assembly poll continues to hang heavy on the head of National Conference President, Omar Abdullah. This became apparent when Omar, speaking at a public function at Muthi on Sunday, said “2002 Assembly election mein Bahoot koshish kee, bahoot ghooma, bahut wadey kiye is kursee key liye per Mufti Sahib na Janey kahan sey aaye aur kursi cheen key leygaye”(in 2002 Assembly election I toured the entire state, worked hard, dished out promises for the chair but I do not know from where Mufti Sahib came to snatch the chair). He advised people not to get misled by slogans and ideas of several political parties.”Listen to them and judge them individually.Support that party whose ideas and promises appear to your bright and promising,” Mr Omar said. It is this loss of power, political observers in Jammu say, has motivated the National Conference leadership to keep its hunt on for regaining power. It is in this context that the NC leadership has been trying to cultivate the Congress so that it (Congress) snap ties with the PDP. |
