Mufti wants Center to renew its offer of dialogue to militants, separatists

PDP Chief Patron and Former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has called upon the Central Government to renew its offer of dialogue to militants and the separatists as a part of serious efforts for resolution of Kashmir issue. He also asked Hurriyat leaders to come out with concrete proposal on resolution of Kashmir issue.
Addressing a public rally at Dak Bungalow Anantnag, Sayeed while propagating the idea of self rule said PDP has come out with a road map in the shape of self rule for resolution of Kashmir issue before the people of the state and international community. Saying that self rule stands high on PDP agenda, Sayeed said resolution of Kashmir issue is embed in self rule that takes care of the sentiments and interests of the people of all the three regions of the state.
Claiming overwhelming public support on party's self rule proposal, Sayeed said he solicited cooperation from the people during his whirl wind tour of the state ahead of his New York trip. Promising that the party's self rule proposal will be made public before the international community to search new ways for resolution of Kashmir issue, Sayeed called upon Central leadership to renew its offer of dialogue to separatists and militants as a part of serious efforts which need to be started afresh for resolution of Kashmir issue. Saying that times to build castles in air are over and need for a constructive approach is inevitable, Sayeed advised Hurriyat leaders to come out with concrete proposals on resolution of Kashmir issue this time to end political chaos and confusion in the whole region.
Stressing for starting trade and further softening of travel concessions across the line of control (LoC), Sayeed said PDP favours troop reduction and handing over of internal security to police. Claiming that he has taken up all the issues with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh who , according to him, vowed to take all possible steps for resolution of Kashmir issue, Sayeed said police should be given more teeth to ensure smooth transfer of internal security related matters.
Speaking on the occasion, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti claimed overwhelming support of international community to party's healing touch policy and stressed for more flexibility to end continuing excesses in the state. Among others who addressed the rally include former minister Gh Hassan Mir, Agriculture Minister Ab Aziz Zargar and MoS Health Peer Mohd Hussain.
