`No TD for 165 Hajj pilgrims' | | | early times report Jammu, July 21: At least 165 intended Hajj pilgrims will be denied travel documents this year. This was reported today by a local news agency quoting intelligence sources. The pilgrims have been found involved in anti-national activities. Surprisingly the wives of most of these persons have been cleared by the intelligence sleuths. But, as per Islamic law, the women cannot go for Hajj pilgrimage alone. They have to be accompanied by a malemember of the family. The `unfortunate' pilgrims had made it to the select list from various districts through draw of lots. A pilgrim from Anantnag district said the intelligence sleuths should not determine whether a person is eligible for performing pilgrimage. "This is what makes Jammu Kashmir a police state", he said.
