Big demand from a small party | | | ABID SHAH early times report NEW DELHI, July 21: A demand for imposition of Governor's rule has come from somewhat unlikely quarters. The little known Indian Justice Party president Udit Raj made a strong plea for this at a Press conference held here today in the presence of a few party delegates from Jammu and Kashmir. They claimed that the Valley now faced a virtual siege and not just curfew. Udit Raj contended that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had lost "grip over administration" and as a result of this people have been suffering under curfew for now over 20 days. He said that his party,s J&K unit was of the firm view that Governor's rule was the only option left to redeem the deteriorating situation in the State. The delegation from the Valley included Mushtaq Veeri, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Ghzaala Mushtaq, Merajuddin, Muhammed Rafiq and Haji Noor Mohammed. The delegates said that this time the situation in the Valley was worse than the most past skirmishes between people and Government forces. Asked about as to what could be a solution to the long standing strife in Kashmir, Udit Raj said that the borders should be made irrelevant so that the politicos who have been inciting the people on behalf of Pakistan get exposed. He said that once those swayed away by separatists come to know about the realities inside Pakistan, they would never fall in the trap laid out from across the borders.
