NCC organizes national integration camp | | | early times report Srinagar, July 21: NCC Group Srinagar is running a Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) 'Srinagar - 2010' at JAK LI Regimental Centre, Srinagar from 19 - 30 July 2010 under the aegis of NCC Directorate of J&K. The main aim of the camp is to foster the spirit of national integration and solidarity, and develop camaraderie amongst 250 participating NCC Cadets and 21 Associate NCC Officers (ANO's) who represent 17 NCC Directorates from all over the country. SNIC Srinagar will provide an opportunity to these cadets to interact, share with each other and create awareness on geographical variance, divergent cultures, customs and traditions of their states by way of cultural programmes, National Integration Awareness (NIA) Presen-tations, debates, discussions and lectures by eminent personalities. The NCC Directorate, in collaboration with various Departments of J&K State government is making an endeavour to showcase natural beauty of Kashmir Valley besides streamlining the faculty of NCC youth power to analyze geo-political importance of J&K, Kashmir Valley in particular. The special theme evolved for SNIC Srinagar - 2010 is "Kashmir bulandi ki aur". The camp has organized educational excursion visits of cadets to historical places in and around Srinagar besides sight seeing tours. In addition to the DG NCC, State Minister for Defence, Governor of J&K, Chief Minister of J&K, and Vice Chancellor Kashmir University are scheduled to visit the camp and interact with the cadets, the youth power of India.
