Ex-servicemen hold rally at sunderbani | | | early times report Rajouri, July 21: Sunderbani region has a fairly large percentage of Ex-servicemen, who form an influential group in civil Society. An Ex-servicemen rally was organised at Kalidhar Auditorium in Sunderbani on 21 Jul , to facilitate single point interaction of civil and military officials with Ex-servicemen of the region, as well as to educate them about various beneficiary schemes launched for them. It was a very well attended event in which 247 Ex-servicemen and 24 Veer Narees actively participated. Maj (Retd) Rumal Singh Thakur, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (Rajouri) and Ex Hav Vaishno Das, President Ex-servicemen League (Sunderbani) addressed the gathering and apprised them of various welfare schemes initiated for them by the State and Central Government. Later, the Station Commander, Sunderbani assured Ex-servicemen of all possible assistance for their welfare and also promised to organise such interactive programmes regularly in future. He also exhorted them to channelise their respective talents, potential and disciplined life style for the development of the region, as well as for betterment of the society ushering in peace and prosperity. Ghulam Ahmed Khwaja, DC(Rajouri), Mrs Harbinder Kaur, SDM (Naushera) and Satpal Sharma, Tehsildar (Sunderbani) were also among the civil dignitaries who attended the Rally. The officials assured of their endeavour to help Ex-servicemen so that they get the desired respect and response from the society. The event culminated with a Barakhana organised by the Serving Army Persons of Sunderbani for the retired colleagues and their families.
