Insurance agents hold annual convention | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 21: To discuss the day to day issues, Life Insurance Agents Federation of India (LIAFI) organised a day-long annual convention of LIC Agents Association of Jammu, here today. All India president of LIAFI, S B Sreenivasa Chary was the chief guest and all India general secretary of LIAFI Shyamal Chakaraborty was the guest of honor, while federal executive and divisional secretary of Srinagar division of LIAFI were among the dignitaries present on the occasion. The president and secretary general of LIAFI opposed the three proposals of IRDA, including the disclosure of ULIP commission to policy holders, agency quota fixed by IRDA i.e. 20 lives and 1.50 lac FPI and 50 per cent on lapsed policies will lead to agency termination and recovery from agent's commission. In the meeting, it was discussed that a high level delegation of LIAFI would meet with the IRDA chairman shortly to discuss the above cited proposals. The members also stressed upon the upgradation of the present DO cell as full fledged divisional office for Jammu region. The house also remembered the valuable contribution of late Prem Sagar Sharma and late Sat Pal Gupta in insurance sector. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included RS Khajuria, ML Wadhera, Dinesh Khanna, and Kavi Shamra besides others.
