Several Senior Congress leaders have hailed the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s announcement to legislate fixing 14 years imprisonment to those who have got ill-gotten properties, disproportionate to their known sources of income in past 20 years.
Azad is reported to have made this announcement at a function held to inaugurate a bridge on Balole Nallah near here today.
A party hand out issued by Ashok Sharma, MLC said that cleansing of the mud from the public life, both in civil and government including politicians, ministers, legislators, corporators, contractors, land grabbers and businessmen will be a historic decision to achieve the goal of good governance, eradicating of corruption, administration of social justice and Kushali for Jammu and Kashmir.
Those who have hailed the announcement include Ashok Kumar Sharma, Abdul Gani Vakil, Ch.Gharu Ram, Moti Lal Koul, Thakur Puran Singh, Thakur Hari Singh, Muzaffer Hussain Beig, Parkash Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Rajiv Saraf, Jhangir Mir and Choudhry Qamar Hussain.
