| Garib Morcha hail Apex court decision on creamy layer | | |

All Jammu and Kashmir Garib Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) Morcha has welcomed the Supreme Court decision with regard to the reservation policy vis-à-vis deleting the creamy layer from the benefit.
Immediately after the judgement upholding the reservation policy in favour of SC/ST and other OBCs, the Morcha convened a meeting under the chairmanship of its President Choudhary Parvez .
Sham Lal Mahasha, Preetyo Devi, Garu Ram and Sant Ram were among those who attended the meeting.
While hailing the decision of the Apex Court, the meeting observed that it has virtually vindicated Morcha’ stand, which has all along advocated the cause of the poorest of the poor among the SC/ST communities. It was stated at the meeting that Morcha has been demanding disqualification of creamy layer from the entitlement of the benefit under the reservation policy for the last years, a handout issued by the Morcha said.
The meeting, however, expressed apprehensions that the Government might not adhere to the directions in this behalf and prayed the Apex Court to ensure implementation of its ruling in letter and spirit.
