Protest against JK Bank | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, July 23 : Residents of Rajouri today thronged streets and held protest demonstration against the authorities of J&K Bank Branch Gujjar Mandi Rajouri alleging that the bank has refused to open their accounts. The protestors who had come from outskirts of Rajouri had to open account in the branch for getting scholarships announced by the government of India for minorities. They said that when they approached Bank authorities in Gujjar Mandi, they called up security men to push them out from the bank. "We were treated like sheep by the Bank in Rajouri", a protestor Inam Mohammad said adding that they were not guided properly by the officials and behaved them differently. The protestors said that they had fulfilled all the formalities of opening an account in the Bank but the officials refused to open due to the reason better known to them. When contacted, a bank official said that these people had not fulfilled the required formalities for opening the account. "We have no problem if they fulfill the formalities", he added. |
