| Dr Padmini conferred with Bharat Jyoti Award | | |

JAMMU, July 23:Dr Padmini Tikoo, a well known Sitarist and Sanskrit scholar of the state has been bestowed with Bharat Jyoti Award along with certificate of excellence by the India International Friendship Society (IIFS), New Delhi.
Dr Tickoo's few achievements include, being first and the only woman in Jammu & Kashmir state having two doctorate degrees in Indian Classical Music and Sanskrit literature. She was the first to start Yogic Concert in state during 2003 in an international conference on Yoga held at University of Jammu, presented paper and gave practical demonstration of Yogic meditation through Classical Sitar recital. At present she is working as Head of Department, Sanskrit at Govt M A M, P G College Jammu. |
