Contractual lecturers protest against non-regularization | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, July 25: Dozens of contractual lecturers of Doda district held a massive protest rally here today against state government's antagonistic policy towards them. In the morning, a large number of contractual lecturers working in various institutions of Doda district assembled and shouted slogans against government and in favor of their demands. The protest rally was led by its District President Zaffar Iqbal Wani who lashed out against the government for not regularizing their services though they have been working for last seven years. He said on the one side government is claiming that it is going to regularize all the contractual employees but on the other hand it is ignoring the lecturers who are working from the time of militancy in rural areas where nobody was willing to go. Other speakers on the occasion said government was not accepting contractual lecturers as government employees and in these days of price rise and inflation they are receiving a paltry sum of Rs. 7000. They demanded hike in the salary to the tune of Rs. 15000 as per the basic pay of permanent lecturer. They warned the government of serious consequences if their demands were not accepted .Mukhtiar Ahmed Malik, Shahid Hussain, Joyti, Anil Kumar, Sajid Mir, Sonu, Sanam Najar, Tahira Banoo and others also spoke on the occasion and demanded early regularization of the services of lecturers.
