7/25/2010 10:40:56 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, July 25: Guru Purnima was celebrated at Bhagwati Nagar Ashram of Param Pujya Sant Shri Asaram Ji Bapu with enthusiasm and full religious fervour.
Since early morning the devotees thronged the Ashram Complex in thousands and participated in the celebrations as per programme. The formal celebrations started at 10:00am sharp with Gurupujan,
Asaramayan paath and paduka pujan. The devotees including males, females and children enjoyed the relishing langer/parsad from 01:00pm onwards for which adequate arrangement had been made by Shri Yog Vedant Sewa Samiti of the Ashram.
It may be recalled tht Guru Purnima is the day, to pay our obesience to our Satgurudev who made our lives purposeful and prosperous by initiating us with Gurmantra and enlightened us with knowledge, Yog and Bhagti thereby enabling us to know our "Trueself" (Atman). This auspicious day is popularly known as Vyas purnima also as it is Vedvyas Ji the great seer who right from Brahamsutra to Mahabharta penned down as many as (17) Seventeen Puranas together with Samrities. Since he compiled Vedas that is why he is named Vedvyas. Maharishi Ved Vyas ji is the fountainhead of the vast ocean of knowledge contianed in the puranas, the subdivions thereof and the Samritis. He didn't feel satisfaction with all the greatwork, done so far and thus finally propounded the most sacred granth "Srimad Bhagwad Gita" for the welfare and redemption of the whole mankind. Lord
Vedvyas Ji is one of the eight immortals and is ever present in the form of selfrealised saints engaged in public good and that is why such saints are called "Vyasa" and the rostrum from where they deliver
Satsang is called "Vyaspitha". Let us accomplish our supreme good on this auspicious day treading
steadfastly with unflinching faith and conviction the path of knowledge, devotion, worship and selfless service as shown by Vyasji and Sadgurudev.
This is the best and only way to express our gratitude to VyasJi (Sadguru Ji).
