| Hurriyat leadership for acceptance of Gen Parvez's offer of cooperation by India | | | Srinagar,July 26 :- The All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leadership favours India to accept the offer of cooperation from Pakistan President,Gen. Parvez Musharraf, for investigation in the recent Mumbai serial blasts. According to a senior APHC leader,Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat,"India should not reject the offer of cooperation from Gen. Musharraf. It is the need of the house." He said "for amicable and peace solution to the bilateral problems Delhi should encourage cooperation from Islamabad." Prof. Bhat said that "there cannot be any escape route as far as continuance of the bilateral dialogue and confidence building measures are concerned." When reminded that Delhi had conveyed to Islamabad that it would resume the process of dialogue once Pakistan stopped aid to crossborder terrorism Prof. Bhat shot back "what aid to militants ? Pakistan President has time and again assured Delhi that his Government will cooperate in the investigations of serial bomb blasts in Mumbai and India should accept the offer." The APHC leader said " suspending or postponing the dialogue process is not the answer.Do the talking and you will find solutions to various problems."He said that neither India nor Pakistan "can afford to cancel the process and dialogue because such an exercise may worsen the security scenario in the entire subcontinent." Prof. Bhat said "there has been cooperation between Delhi and Islamabad as far as people to people contact and development of trade are concerned. There is no harm if Delhi accepted Gen. Parvez's offer of cooperation in the investigations in Mumbai serial blasts." He said that "may be with Pakistan's assistance India is able to nab the culprits because hitherto the Indian security and intelligence agencies had take all possible measures for zeroing on the real culprits but had failed." The APHC leader said that in the interest of peace in the subcontinent the India-Pakistan dialogue process should be resumed as early as possible and the two sides needed to demonstrate sincerity and flexibility on all issues whether connected with Kashmir problem of that of Mumbai blasts or any form of violence.
