Ankush to clash with Sumesh while Nikhil Kapahi will take on Ishuk Choudhary in the semifinals to be played tomorrow in Junior Snooker in the ongoing 16th Jammu District Open Billiards and Snooker championship being played at Billiards Hall M.A. stadium here today. Today, the quarterfinals were played. In the first quarterfinal, Sumesh Tirki outclassed Vidit Gawri by 58-51, 56-46 and 50-49. The remaining three quarterfinals were well contested. In the second quarterfinal, Ankush Gupta beat Ishan Sharma by 3-2 55-13, 36-67, 58-31, 22-50 and 56-27. Nikhil Kapahi too had to sweat for sealing a win over Ishan Choudhary with the same margin. The frame score was 34-66, 58-48, 63-34, 25-70 and 65-45. In the fourth quarterfinal, Ishuk Choudhary beat Sahil Arora by 61-31, 71-43, 30-61, 37-59 and and 46-23. However, the junior billiards shall start from October 24 followed by senior snooker from October 26 to be played at the same venue.
