| Militant guide held in Rajouri | | | JAMMU: A man suspected to be a guide and hardcore supporter of militants was today apprehended by a joint column of police and Rashtriya Rifles (RR) from Hidayatpur near Kalakote in Rajouri. He was identified as Nazir Hussain, son of Mohammad Shafi, of
Hidayatpur. Police sources said acting on a tip off as regards the involvement of Nazir in aiding the terrorists, security forces raided his house and arrested him.
Nazir was allegedly known to be guiding terrorist groups and providing them with food and shelter. Inputs suggested that he was also allegedly aiding the terrorist killed in Dhalyot Forest on July 11.
The apprehension of Nazir is seen as a major achievement in the ongoing efforts of army and police to bring peace and normalcy in the area.
A case was registered against him under sections 3/7 and 25 of Arms Act, 415 of Explosive Substance Act and 121/120-B and 122 of RPC for providing shelter to terrorists. Sources said he had been sent to Joint Interrogation Centre, Jammu, for further investigation.
