| Enhance emoluments of daily wagers: Shastri | | | JAMMU | OCT 22
The president National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri has appreciated the decision of the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues in releasing the pending installment of D.A and increase in the medical allowance in favour of the employees of the state government and pensioners, but regretted that the wages of the daily wagers have not been in accordance with the sharp rise in prices of essential commodities.
Addressing a largely attended NMC workers meeting on the eve of Vishwakarma Day her today. He pleaded strongly for enhancing the emoluments of the daily wagers who are getting very salaries, meager salaries, just Rs. 2100/- P.M
NMC chief hoped that a seasoned politician and sympathizer of the working class chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will be the last 1st chief minister of the country to implement the recommendation of the sixth pay commission in toto.
Several resolutions were adopted in the meeting included deceleration of Vishwakarma Day as a National Holiday, release of salary of motivators working in the IWDP project, release of wages of the casual labourers of floriculture department, grant of cola installments, filling of post laying vacant in the irrigation department by appointing seasonal labourers.
Among others who also spoke on the occasion included Rajan Baby Khajuria, Sunil Kocchar, Co,m. BArkat Ram, Mohal Lal, and others also spoke on the occasion and paid rich tributes to Vishwakarma.
