Declaration of Dainik Bhaskaer | Jammu edition stayed | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 26 : The high court today stayed Declaration of the Jammu edition of Dainik Bhaskar. The orders were passed by Justice Sunil Hali on a petition filed by Sanjay Aggarwal who claims ownership of Dainik Bhaskar published from Jhansi. He also sought quashment of the Declaration issued by District Magistrate Jammu in favour of DB Coper Ltd, Ahmedabad. The court afterhearing the parties issued notice to respondents' returnable within four weeks, Advocate Deepika Mahajan accepted notice on behalf of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting New-Delhi and Registrar of Newspapers for India. Court directed counsel for the petitioners that they shall take steps to serve notice on state of J&K through Chief Secretary, District Magistrate Jammu and DB Coper Limited Ahmedabad. The court observed that it is pointed out by the Advocates CS Gupta and Seema Shekhar for the petitioner that in terms of Rule5(2b) of Press & Registration of Book Act 1867 declaration has to be made by the co-owners, impugned orders reveals that the same has not been done by the District Magistrate Jammu. The court, therefore, stayed the Declaration letter of Registrar Newspaper of India dated June 9, 2010 verification of title and declaration issued on June 15, 2010 issued by the District Magistrate in favour of DB Coper Limited for Jammu Edition till next date of hearing.
