Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 26 : The hectic moves for Talibanisation of Pak-occupied Kashmir coupled with trouble generated by the fundamentalists in many parts of Kashmir valley are a matter of serious concern and the centre must take note of those developments before it is too late as Jammu and Kashmir is sensitive part of the country.
This was stated by the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta while interacting with a group of activists from Pak-held areas, who complained that little is being done for their permanent settlement although over six decades have elapsed when assurances were given that the displaced persons would be settled in their respective areas as Pakistan would be forced to vacate the aggression.
During all these years nothing has been done in this regard despite 1994 unanimous resolution of the Parliament that Pakistan has no locus standii in Jammu and Kashmir and the entire state is an integral part of India, both legally and constitutionally, they added but regretted New Delhi leaders does not even talk about it and strangely enough some ruling leaders of the NC quite often talk that to settle problems with Pakistan, the Line of Control should be converted into a permanent border.
Responding to the complains of migrants, Prof. Gupta said that the main problems has been that Congress leadership had never a Kashmir policy and the NC as also other in Kashmir having communally diseased mind, had always been playing dubious game.
As far as Pakistan is concerned, he said, its creation had always been exploiting religious sentiments for their survival. But after the developments in Afghanistan and the religious extremism enshrined in Talibani virus, the things are worsening, he added and said that there are reports that after the cleanse of minorities in Pak-held areas of Kashmir, the vast areas have gone under Talibanisation.
He regretted that the UPA government at the centre does not appear to be serious about the developments although several high ups linked with various agencies had given detailed reports about the growing activities of Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jamat-ul-Dawa as also other such outfits.
Prof. Gupta pointed that in the book titled "Jammu and Kashmir after the earthquake", several eminent writers and thinkers including the former IG of state police, R.V. Raju had clearly reported the dangers ahead. They had even given the details about the trapping of victims of earthquake of October 08, 2005, and their children and others being admitted in large number of Slafi Schools and Madrassas for their brain washing. In their reports these well informed persons had even disclosed that certain youths from Kashmir valley have been trained to operate as Commanders of Lashkar-e-Toiba in Kashmir.
He said that these reports are now being confirmed by the eminent personalities of Western Countries too, that Lashkar-e-Toiba is hand and glove with the extremists of Talbani outlook. During interaction the activists of migrants from PoK disclosed that there has been not only cleanse of Hindu-Sikh and other minorities in so-called Azad Kashmir even the names of many places have been changed. One of the activist revealed that their native village Bandi-Gopalpur, situated about sixteen kms from the border town of Poonch, has been renamed by Pakistan as Abasspur and a big military base has been raised there.
Similarly the name of the river Kishanganga has been changed to as river Neelam.
Responding to the demand of representation to displaced people from PoK, Prof. Gupta pointed out their party is committed that out of 24 seats reserved in the State Constitution, at least eight should be reserved fro migrants from PoK but unfortunately the Congress and NC government opposed their bill in the assembly.
