| Police unearths black-marketing racket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, July 31: Rajouri police today unearthed a racket allegedly involved in black-marketing government ration in the area by arresting a shopkeeper while selling government rice meant for the poor people. On a tip off about the black-marketing of government ration in Thandi Kassi area of Rajouri, a police team led by Chowki Incharge Thandi Kassi Sub-Inspector Ravi Kant raided a shop belonging to Gansham Singh son of Chamail Singh and caught him red handed while he was busy selling ration of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department. As per police, they have recovered 10 quintal rice and one quintal sugar from his shop. A case has been registered and the culprits arrested. Sources said that Gansham has purchased this ration from a dealer of the CAPD and the involvement of higher ups of CAPD department cannot be ruled out. Sources said that the illegal business was going on in the area for the last many years but police was looking for proper time to nab the culprits. "When we received inputs that some ration of CAPD department which is meant for poor people has been stored in a private shop in Thandi Kassi, we raided the shop and recovered 10 quintal rice and 1 quintal sugar from this shop" Chowki Incharge of Police Ravi Kant said. Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rouf Lone has said that they are investigating into matter.
