| Suman to attend art workshop in Shimla | | |

JAMMU, July 31: Suman Gupta, one of the finest and senior artist and a National award winner belonging to J&K State, has been invited by the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS), Shimla for an art workshop on "Shimla Conference-1945" . Some of the most senior and eminent artists form the different parts of the country have been invited to work for a week together in different mediums and styles. All the participants shall be working together in the institute, and try to put their thoughts and ideas on canvas with a specific theme "Shimla Conference-1945" .The workshop shall commence from August 9 and conclude on August 15. It is to mention here that IIAS is housed in the Vice Regal Lodge which is one of the finest buildings in one of the beautiful locations in Shimla. Many historical and political decisions and pacts have been discussed, debated and signed in the Vice Regal Lodge, be it the partition or the Gandhi - Irwin Pact and several others. The institute has in these years reflected on these issues from time to time but primarily in words. IIAS management hopes that the presence of some of the leading participating artists with their vision to speak in different artistic voices and vocabulary will add these reflections with colours on canvas.
