EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 31: Two-day Jammu District Judo Championship, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association, concluded today at Indoor Complex with the holding of prize distribution function. In the senior boys' category, the 56 kg gold went to Rattan Singh, who beat Tarun Dev Singh in the final. Similarly, in senior most age group of under-17 girls, Supriya Pandita bagged gold in 50 kg weight category beating Sugandhi Koul. Third place went to Jasmeet Kour. About 200 judokas participated in various weight groups of different age categories at the judo hall. The bouts in this two-day competition were officiated by Suraj Bhan Singh, Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia, Jugal Kishore, Varinder Dogra, Raj Kumar and Suraj Sharma. Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau was chief guest in the valedictory function, who gave away medals to the winners of different age categories. Sports Officer of the State Sports Council, Rajan Sharma and Kuldeep Magotra were guests of honour. Prominent among others present were manager indoor complex, general secretary of the Association, R C Thakur, Ashok Singh and senior badminton coach, Sat Pal Sharma. Under-20 year: 56 kg: Aman Gupta, Ist; Avinash, 2nd and Akhil Budkulia, third. 81 kg: Sheran Mirza, Ist and Karan Prabakar, 2nd. Under-17 year: 45 kg: Mohd Mustafa, Ist; Varun Raina, 2nd; Sarabjeet Signh and Ankush Mehra, joint third. 50 kg: Ravneet Singh, Ist; Akshay Samnotra, 2nd and Rishab Sopori, third. 55 kg: Ashutosh Khajuria, Ist; Sarthak Wattal, 2nd and Vipul Koul, third. 60 kg: Mohd Arshad, Ist; Nandan Malhotra, 2nd. Plus 60 kg: Danish Sharma, Ist; Arnesh Sareen, 2nd; Shubankar Baru and Mohd Haziq, joint third.
