NCP condemns Tral incident | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 31:Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Randhir Singh has condemned the incident of chopping-off hair of a Sikh youth at Tral in Kashmir. In a meeting of senior NCP leaders, the participants lodged strong protest and demanded a criminal action against the culprits responsible for this act. The culprits must be booked under PSA immediately, state NCP said in a resolution. Randhir Singh said that J&K police has failed to trace the culprits besides identifying the sensitive places like Tral where Sikhs in minority are living from centuries and have contributed for strengthening the secular fabric of the state. The state NCP chief demanded immediate shake up in Jammu Kashmir Police from top to bottom, otherwise the situation can worsen. He appealed to the people of J&K to defeat nefarious designs of the anti-national elements who are at the look out to disturb the secular fabric of this country and further said people should maintain peace and communal harmony. Singh has deputed a team of NCP workers under the leadership of J A Khan Vice President NCP to visit Tral. A detailed report of the incident would be send to NCP high command, he added.
