Guru Manyo Granth Society condemns valley killings | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, July 31: The Guru Manyo Granth Society and amalgam of various Sikh organizations in the state of Jammu and Kashmir have strongly condemned the killing of the innocent Kashmiri people at the hand of security forces. In an emergency meeting held today under the chairmanship of Jasdeep Singh, the society urged the government to stop the bloodshed in Kashmir and come clean on the killing of innocent people. The Society urged the chief minister Omar Abdullah to take moral responsibility of the killing and step down as the chief minister of the state. The society also urged the Governor N. N. Vohra to take control of the government of the state by imposing governor's rule in the state, which could put an end to ongoing crisis and turmoil in the valley. The society also urged the opposition PDP not to play politics on the dead bodies of the innocent people who are getting killed. It said the PDP should desist from gimmicks like locking the civil secretariat so as to score points over the government. It added that right now the job of a healthy opposition was to support the government to calm down the tempers and the explosive situation. The Society has also urged the leader of the hard-line faction of the APHC to put an end to the ongoing strikes and protests, which led to the unfortunate death of some youth. The Society urged the youth not to endanger their lives by targeting gun holding security personnel for his stone pelting mission. Peaceful means are needed for pressing some demands. The death of the innocent youth has turned out to be a lucrative business for some who have been playing politics with the bodies of the dead people. The Society believes that that the PDP chief Mehbooba Muft, too, was playing politics on the bodies of the dead youth as she had her eyes on the seat of the chief minister. The society also decried the criminal silence of the party over tonsuring a Sikh youth. The criminal silence of the Union government on the killing of the Kashmiri youth also raises questions on the "sincerity" of the Indian Union in restoration of peace and normalcy in the valley
