Andrabi denounces assault on Sikh youth | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 31:"Kashmir is back to the worst of early nineties and there seems to be no end to the killings, protests, shut-downs and curfews at all," said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, president of Socialistic Democratic Party while talking to media persons at Srinagar today. Dr Darakhshan said that now yet again we are experiencing communal tension in valley after two decades. Condemning the act of assault on a Sikh youth at Tral two days ago by some miscreants, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that in no way those involved in this act are Muslims. She said such elements should be dealt sternly and must be booked under PSA. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that this was yet another attempt to malign the centuries old secular tradition of Kashmir and divide the society on communal lines. She hailed the patience of the Sikh community and congratulated them for avoiding reactions that could have led us again to an ugly and awkward situation. Dr Darakhshan said that she was pleased to see the positive attitude of the Sikh leaders when she met them yesterday at Pulwama. Reacting to yet another spell of protests and killings throughout the valley of Kashmir yesterday, Andrabi said that these grave situations stand testimony to the fact that Omar Abdullah has proved a complete disaster for the state especially the valley of Kashmir. She said when we are experiencing a state of trouble, our leaders like Farooq Abdullah do not even feel ashamed of telling the media, "Kashmir Ko Goli Maaro". In real sense these Abdullahs have gifted us chaos and uncertainty. She said that this government has lost its moral and constitutional right to be in power. Dr Darakhshan said, "Omar has to, go better he resigns at the earliest for it will be better for the people in distress." She said that enough was enough and now we want no more political drama any further.
